A viagem chegou ao fim!! / The trip reached the end!!

Caros pais, familiares, estudantes e amigos do PIJ do Rotary,

Finalmente cheguei a Belo Horizonte, a sede da Terra Brasil Turismo e onde moro. Já sinto saudade dos meninos todos!

O Final da viagem foi ótimo!

Na quarta-feira cedo seguimos para Angra dos Reis, ultima cidade da viagem, onde fizemos um incrível passeio de saveiro pelas paradisíacas ilhas com águas calmas e transparentes e a noite tivemos um inesquecível Luau de despedida!

Ontem cedo voltamos para casa! Os desembarques ocorreram da forma planejada!

O que posso dizer dessa viagem é que trabalhamos da melhor forma possível para fazer a melhor viagem para vocês, intercambistas! Gostaria de fazer um agradecimento especial à nossa coordenação, Clarissa, Isabela (medica), Maria Helena Baeza nossa querida chaperone representante do distrito 4630 e aos nossos motoristas! Vou sentir saudade de todos!

Dear parents, relatives, students and friends of Rotary,


I finally arrived in Belo Horizonte, where Terra Brasil Turismo is located and where I live. The end of the trip was great!

On Wednesday morning we went to Angra dos Reis, the last city of the trip, where we took part in an incredible boat adventure through the tropical islands with calm and transparent waters. At night we had our farewell party, with a Luau in front of the beach! Everybody had fun!!!

I just can say that we worked a lot to make the best trip for you, exchange students! I’d like to thank a lot the coordinators: Clarissa, Isabela (our Doctor), Maria Helena Baeza, our lovely chaperone of district 4630 and our drivers!! I’ll miss everyone!

Cidade Maravilhosa!!! / Marvelous city!!!

Olá!!!!

Estamos na cidade mais esperada pela maioria dos intercambistas: RIO DE JANEIRO. Conhecida como Cidade Maravilhosa, tem uma beleza ímpar entre montanhas e o mar!

Chegamos aqui no Domingo à tarde e onze estudantes que optaram por fazer o tour somente para o Rio de Janeiro se juntaram a nós. Como nosso hotel fica em Copacabana, os estudantes aproveitaram para conhecer a praia, o bairro e tirar bastante foto!! À noite jantamos em um delicioso restaurante próximo ao hotel e em seguida voltamos para nosso hotel!

Na segunda-feira pela manhã, acordamos e o dia estava chuvoso! A maioria dos intercambistas optou por fazer o tour opcional para a Favela da Rocinha: todos aprenderam muito e adoraram!!! A tarde, visitamos o Maracanã (o maior estádio de futebol do Brasil e um dos maiores do MUNDO) e o Sambódromo (onde o famoso Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro acontece). Em seguida, fomos para o bairro Barra da Tijuca, onde visitamos o shopping, jantamos em uma das melhores churrascarias do Rio de Janeiro e logo após partimos para o Hard Rock Café, onde todos fizeram muitas compras e....FESTA!! Como infelizmente não teve o ensaio do OLODUM em Salvador, prometi aos estudantes fazer uma festa boa para eles em outro lugar, e o dia foi segunda e no Hard Rock Café, o que animou muito todos! Dançamos muito ao som de funk, axé e dance até 1 da manhã!!

Ontem pela manhã acordamos e estava um sol maravilhoso!! Fomos então ao Corcovado, e os meninos ficaram maravilhados com a beleza dessa cidade vista do ponto mais alto!! Logo em seguida visitamos o Pão de Açúcar, mais um grande ponto turístico da cidade! A noite, jantamos e retornamos para nosso hotel para descansar um pouco afinal, precisamos guardar energia para esse final da viagem!!

Daqui a uma hora partimos para Angra dos Reis, ultima cidade do roteiro, onde faremos um incrível passeio de saveiro pelas paradisíacas ilhas com águas calmas e transparentes e a noite teremos um inesquecível Luau de despedida!

Hey!!!

We are in the most awaited city of the trip for the majority of the exchange students: Rio de Janeiro. It is known as the Marvelous City with fantastic mountains and beaches mixed in one place!

We arrived here Sunday afternoon, when 11 other students who decided to make the tour only to Rio de Janeiro joined us! Our hotel is located at the famous Copacabana neighborhood, so as soon as we arrived here, the students went for a walk and took lots of pictures!! At night, we went dinner at a very delicious restaurant nearby and just after we came back to our hotel!

Monday morning we woke up and it was raining and almost everybody went to the Favela Tour (a visit to Rocinha): they learned a lot and just loved the tour!! In the afternoon we went to visit some famous tourist place like Maracanã (the biggest soccer stadium of Brazil and one of the biggest of the world) and Sambódromo, where the famous Carnival takes place. Just after we went to Barra da Tijuca neighborhood, where we went to a shopping mall, had dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city and went out to the Hard Rock Café, where every one shopped a lot, enjoyed the store and…PARTY!!! As we did not have the Olodum rehearsal at Salvador, I promised the students to make another party at a great place, and I decided to make at Hard Rock Café!! Everyone loved it and we danced a lot until 1am!!

Yesterday morning we went to the Corcovado hill and the students were amazed with the perfect view of the highest place of Rio! Just after we went to another great touristic pint: Sugar loaf! At night, we went dinner and came back to the hotel to rest and save some energy for the end of the trip!!

In one hour we are going to Angra dos Reis, the last city of the trip, where we will take part in an incredible boat adventure through the tropical islands with calm and transparent waters. At night we will have our farewell party, with a Luau!!

Porto Seguro - Vitória

BOA NOITE!!


Estamos em Vitória, no Espírito Santo e acabamos de chegar aqui! Vamos apenas fazer um pernoite técnico e seguir amanha bem cedo para o Rio de Janeiro, cidade tão esperada pela maioria dos intercambistas! Atrasamos um pouco nossa saída De Porto Seguro devido a um pequeno problema com o ônibus, que foi resolvido enquanto descansamos da longa noite em nosso Hotel!!

Vamos contar um pouco sobre Porto Seguro! Chegamos lá na quinta-feira à noite, jantamos e fomos descansar!

Na sexta-feira pela manhã fomos ao Axé Moi, um centro de lazer famoso em Porto Seguro. Muitos tentaram aprender as danças de Axé com os dançarinos que ficam no palco dançando e ensinando! À Tarde fizemos o city tour pela cidade Alta, que é a primeira cidade brasileira. Depois partimos para Santa Cruz de Cabrália, onde foi celebrada a primeira missa do Brasil. Todos gostaram muito e souberam muitas informações importantes sobre a cidade e os locais visitados.

À noite, FESTA! As festas em Porto Seguro são muito organizadas: cada noite é festa em um lugar só, sendo assim esse lugar fica mais cheio e muito animado! Fomos a um lugar fantástico chamado Ilha dos Aquários. Para chegar à festa é preciso pegar um barco, pois é localizada em uma Ilha. Todos se divertiram e dançaram muito, ainda mais porque o ambiente é enorme e os intercambistas podiam escolher que tipo de musica escutar; Tinham tendas de MPB, Forró, Axé, Hip Hop e até mesmo um ambiente de Techno, com muita luz néon e luzes coloridas! Chegamos a nosso hotel quase 5 horas da manhã muito cansados!!

Good Night!!

Now we’re at Vitória, in the state of Espírito Santo, where we’ll stay only for the night because we will be leaving for the expected Rio de Janeiro early tomorrow morning. We just arrived here. We left Porto Seguro a little late because we had a small problem with the bus, but while the bus was fixing the students were resting of the long night at our hotel!

So Let's talk a little about our time at Porto Seguro, the last city in the northeast region we visited. We arrived there Thursday night, had dinner at the hotel and rested!

Yesterday morning we visited a little bar called Axé Moi, a type of kiosk on the beach very famous in Brasil. The exchange students tried to dance Axé music, typical of Porto Seguro. In the afternoon we made a city tour at Cidade Alta, that was the first city of Brazil. Then we went to Santa Cruz De Cabrália. The students learned a lot about there!

At night PARTY! The parties at Porto Seguro are the most organized: each night there is a 1 party in one of the many clubs, making every party the most full and animated possible. We went to a fantastic place, called Ilha dos Aquários. To get to this party you have to take a boat, since the party was located on an island. Everybody had lots of fun and danced a lot. The island is so big that the exchange students were able to listen to other types of music all over the island from MPB, Forró, Axe, Hip Hop, and even Techno. The entire island was lit up with different colored lights. We returned to the hotel almost 5 am and everyone was extremely tired.

So, from Rio de Janeiro I'll send more news!!

SORRIA, VOCÊ ESTÁ NA BAHIA!! / SMILE, YOU ARE AT BAHIA!! - SALVADOR

BOM DIA!!!!!

Estamos em Salvador, capital do estado da Bahia, última capital do Nordeste visitada.


Nossos dias em Salvador foram poucos, porém inesquecíveis. Chegamos aqui na terça feira à tarde, depois de passarmos o dia na Praia do Forte, onde visitamos o Projeto TAMAR e passeamos em sua charmosa vila.

A noite visitamos o farol da barra, jantamos e voltamos para nosso hotel para descansar.

Ontem, quarta-feira, nós tivemos um dia dedicado à linda capital baiana. Fizemos um tour histórico pelos pontos turísticos mais importantes, como Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda, Igreja São Francisco de Assis e o Centro Histórico do Pelourinho. À noite, os estudantes vibraram com o espetáculo do Balé Folclórico da Bahia, considerado por eles um dos melhores programas culturais de toda a viagem.

Daqui a 1 hora, partimos para Porto Seguro, cidade das festas e diversão, e última cidade que visitaremos no Nordeste do Brasil, de onde enviaremos mais notícias.

GOOD MORNING!!!

Here we are in Salvador, capital city of Bahia state, last visited capital of the Northeast region of Brazil.


We stayed few days in Salvador, but these days were just unforgettable. We arrived here on Tuesday afternoon, after spending the day at Forte Beach, where we visited TAMAR Project (to protect sea turtles) and its nice village. At night we visited Barra Lighthouse, went to dinner and just after we came back to our hotel to rest.

Yesterday, our day was dedicated to this beautiful city. We had a historical tour visiting the most important sites as Senhor do Bonfim Church, Lacerda Elevator, São Francisco de Assis Church and Pelourinho Historical Center.

At night, the students watched a great spectacle, considered by them, one of the best cultural program of the entire trip: the “Bale Folclórico da Bahia”!

In one hour we are going to Porto Seguro, the party and last city of the Northeast region, from where we will send more news.

Recife: Veneza Brasileira!! / Recife: Brazilian Venice

Oláaaaaaa a todos que acompanham nosso blog!! Bom dia!!

Já estamos em Pernambuco!!! O tempo passa depressa e estamos quase na reta final da nossa viagem ao Nordeste.


Chegamos aqui em Recife no sábado na hora do almoço, depois de uma rápida viagem desde Natal. Almoçamos em nosso hotel e na parte da tarde saímos para um citytour pela Veneza Brasileira, como o Recife é conhecido. Visitamos o Castelo de Ricardo Brennand e um pouco do Recife Antigo.

À noite....muita diversão!! Tivemos o tão esperado Show de Talentos da viagem!! Foi um sucesso, com mais de 10 apresentações!! Muita musica, dança típica de cada país e brincadeiras alegraram a noite!!!

Ontem acordamos cedo e seguimos até Olinda, onde fizemos um tour por esta bela e vibrante cidade. Almoçamos em um delicioso restaurante lá e seguimos pra Brasília Teimosa, uma comunidade carente da cidade de Recife, mas que é um exemplo de luta do povo nordestino. Após uma agradável conversa com a líder comunitária, os estudantes conheceram as crianças do bairro e deram presentes e lembranças de seus países e lembrancinhas que eles compraram para as crianças. Terminamos o nosso domingo no Recife Shopping, o segundo maior shopping center do Brasil. Alguns estudantes aproveitaram a oportunidade para ir ao cinema e claro, fazer mais algumas comprinhas!!

Hoje acordamos cedo e estamos indo agora para a Praia de Porto de Galinhas, uma das mais lindas do Nordeste, à uma hora da capital pernambucana.

No final da tarde, seguiremos para Salvador, BA, mas antes faremos um pernoite técnico em Aracaju para descansarmos, pois a viagem seria muito longa até Salvador.

Hello all of you who follow our blog!! Good morning!!

Today, we write from Pernambuco!!!! Time is running out and we are almost at the end of our Summer Trip.


We arrived here in Recife on Saturday, at lunch time, after a quick trip from Natal.

Had lunch at the hotel and in the afternoon, we went out to do a citytour through Recife, know as the Brazilian Venice. We visited Ricardo Brennand Castle and a little of the Old Recife.

In the evening…LOT OF FUN!! We had the so much expected Talent Show!! It was awesome, with more than 10 presentations!! Music, typical dances and songs and some jokes made the night really special!!

Yesterday morning, we visited Olinda, a really nice town where we had very pleasant moments. We had lunch at a delicious restaurant there and went to Brasilia Teimosa, a destitute community of Recife, but an example of people’s fight for better conditions of life. After a conversation with one of the community leaders, the students were introduced to some children and could give to them gifts and souvenirs from their countries.

We finished our day at Recife Shopping Mall, the second biggest one of Brasil. Some students enjoyed the time we had at the mall and went to the cinema, and of course, bought more stuff!!

Today, we woke up early in the morning and we’re going now to Porto de Galinhas Beach, one of the nicest of the Northeast and one hour from the capital, Recife.

In the afternoon, we will travel to Salvador, BA. But before arriving, we will stop in Aracaju to spend the night, because the trip is too long up to the Bahia’s capital.

Depoimento Joana - Polônia!!

Oi


Meu nome e Joanna Jerzyk. Eu tenho 18 anos. Eu sou da Polônia. Isso e meu segundo viagem com Terra Brasil e eu preciso falar que e aqui e bom de mais!!

Primero nos temos possibilidade conhecer novos pessoas de outros países. Cada pessoa e diferente mas o que une a todos nos e intercambio,

Cada dia eu gosto do Brasil mais e mais... Por que?? Serio, não sei mas tenho certeza que aqui e maravilhoso. Brasil e para me um sonho o que eu posso atender.

Agora nos estamos aqui 15 dias- eu já fui pro muitos lugares mas eu adorei Fortaleza. Eu fui pra praia do Cumbuco onde eu tive possibilidade aproveitar passeio do bugre. Em um buggy pode sentar 3-4 pessoas. Eu estive com Anna Maria do e Tina do Taiwan. Nosso motorista estave ótimo. Ele dirigir muito rápido. Foi maravilhoso sentir o vebto em meus cabelos. Depois nos tivemos um poço tempo para as gentes Por ex: tomar um sol, fazer massagem e outras coisas... E da noite... Festa da Pirata!!! As pessoas estavam vestidas como piratas. Dançaram e cantaram para nos. Cada um de nos jogou bem, mas o que e bom acaba depressa e tivemos que voltar pro hotel.

Cada um de nos vive aqui a sua aventura da vida. Graças esta visita vamos explorar este pais maravilhoso. Não quero pensar o que será quando eu tenho que dizer adeus pra essas pessoas e que mais para esta pais. Meu coração já e apenas do Brasil.

Hoje escrevemos do Rio Grande do Norte!!! Estamos em Natal.


Chegamos aqui antes de ontem, quinta-feira, no início da tarde. Almoçamos e viemos diretamente para o nosso hotel!

À noite saímos para jantar em um shopping e logo após tivemos uma noite inesquecível na beira da praia: um luau, com frutas tropicais, música e um céu estrelad o!!Tivemos uma grande confraternização e dançamos bastante! Comemoramos também os aniversários da viagem: Mariah e Jonas, e comemos um delicioso bolo de chocolate!!!!

Ontem acordamos por volta de 9 da manhã e às 10 já estávamos saindo para conhecer o maior Cajueiro do mundo, em Pirangi do Norte. Em seguida curtimos bastante mais um dia de praia. No início da tarde, já de volta, tivemos tempo livre para ensaiar para o tão esperado show de talentos que vai ser hoje a noite!!!

Infelizmente, nossa permanência em Natal não foi muito longa. Ainda estamos na metade da viagem e temos vários lugares pela frente. Hoje, logo após o café da manhã, seguiremos para Recife, e de lá, mandaremos mais notícias.

Today, we write from Rio Grande do Norte!!!! Here we are, in Natal, capital city of the state!


We arrived here on Thursday, in the beginning of the afternoon.

We had lunch and came straight to our hotel. At night, after dinner, we had an unforgettable evening by the sea: a beach party with tropical fruits, music, stars in heaven and a perfect moon! We had a great party and danced for hours and we celebrate the birthdays Mariah and Jonas! We ate a delicious chocolate cake!!

Yesterday we woke up at 9 in the morning and at 10 we went out to visit the biggest cashew tree in the world, “Cajueiro de Pirangi”. After we stayed at Pirangi beach to enjoy the sun! In the afternoon, back to the hotel, we had free time to practice the numbers for the so much expected Talent Show, which will happen today!!!

Unfortunately we are not going to stay too long in Natal. We have half of the trip done, and still have a lot of places to visit. Now, right after breakfast, we will travel to Recife, from where we will send more news.

Fortaleza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bom dia a todos!!!!!!!

Estamos agora na capital cearense: Fortaleza, a capital mais ensolarada do país, chegando a ter até 2800 horas de sol por ano!! Chegamos aqui no domingo à tarde, e fomos direto conhecer alguns pontos turísticos que essa maravilhosa cidade tem a oferecer aos visitantes. Todos estão encantados com as belezas dessa cidade. À noite fomos para a feirinha ao lado do hotel fazer muitas compras!!

Segunda-feira bem cedo fomos para a Praia do Cumbuco, onde todos tiveram a oportunidade de fazer o inesquecível passeio de buggy, com muita emoção: todos simplesmente AMARAM!!! Em seguida fomos para o Mercadão onde todos fizeram muitas compras e à noite...a tão esperada Festa do Pirata, a segunda-feira mais louca do mundo segundo o New York Times. A meninada “se acabou” de tanto dançar forró, axé e enlouqueceram quando a Banda Pirata entrou no palco: voltamos para o hotel bem tarde e acabados!!

Ontem pela manhã acordamos um pouquinho mais tarde, e em seguida fomos para o Beach Park, um dos pontos altos da viagem. Os estudantes aproveitaram muito e quase todos foram corajosos para descer o Insano, o mais alto toboágua do mundo!!! (41 metros, altura de um prédio de 14 andares). Para vocês terem uma idéia, você vai de 1 a 100 km em 3 segundos!! É uma loucura!!

Hoje daqui a pouquinho seguimos para Canoa Quebrada, onde teremos a oportunidade de presenciar um por do sol maravilhoso!!

\Good morning all!!!!!!!!!

Here we are, in Fortaleza, capital city of Ceará state and the second beach of the trip. This city is for sure the sunniest capital of the northeast: some years the city have almost 2800 hours of sun!!

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and our first “program” was get to know some attractions of Fortaleza. Everyone became enchanted by the beauty of the city.

At night, we went to a fair near the hotel to make a lot of shopping!!

On Monday morning we went to Cumbuco Beach, where we all had the opportunity to take an unforgettable buggy ride through the sand dunes. It was very exciting! Right after we went to the Fortaleza Market, where we all shopped till we dropped and at night…we went to the craziest Monday party in the world elected by the New York Times, the Pirate’s Party. The students danced forró, axé and everybody enjoyed a lot when the Pirate band started!

Yesterday, we slept a little more in the morning and after we went to the Beach Park, another highlight of the trip. The students enjoyed a lot and almost everyone had the courage to go to the Insane, the highest water slide in the world. (41 meters high). For you to have an idea, we go from 1 to 100 km in 3 seconds!! It’s crazy!!

Today, right now we’ll continue our trip to Canoa Quebrada, where we’ll have the opportunity to see a perfect sunset!

He trip is perfect until now, and we are enjoying everything a lot!!

Sol, Praia, MACEIÓ!!! / Sun, beach, MACEIÓ!!!

Olá!!!!!!

Já estamos em Maceió, capital do Alagoas, primeira praia da viagem.


Chegamos antes de ontem, na quinta-feira pela manhã, depois de fazer um pernoite técnico em Aracaju!

Já em nosso primeiro dia, fizemos um passeio de jangada até as Piscinas Naturais na Praia da Pajuçara, onde estamos hospedados e depois, nossos estudantes tiveram tempo livre para almoçar e conhecer essa cidade que em minha opinião é uma das mais bonitas do nordeste.

À noite, fomos dançar forró no tradicional Lampião, uma casa de show a beira-mar, na Praia da Ponta Verde: como a casa de forró é na praia, muitos aproveitaram para sentar na areia e apreciar a linda noite estrelada!! Lá também comemoramos o aniversário da Mariah, uma estudante do Canadá que está com a gente!!

Ontem pela manhã, acordamos cedo e seguimos pelo litoral sul até a Barra de São Miguel, onde pegamos um barco e atravessamos para a belíssima praia do Gunga, uma das mais lindas de todo o Nordeste. A travessia de 30 minutos foi acompanhada por muita música brasileira! Permanecemos na Praia do Gunga por mais de 4 horas, todos nadaram e aproveitaram bastante a praia!!! Fomos depois para a Feirinha do Pontal, com um belo artesanato, e rendas.

Voltamos para o hotel, jantamos e fomos descansar afinal, a viagem está só no início e precisamos ter pique para agüentar até o final!!!

Neste exato momento, como a manhã é livre, a maioria aproveita para dormir até um pouco mais tarde, enquanto outros estão na piscina curtindo a ultima manhã em Maceió!

Partiremos logo após o almoço para Fortaleza, no Ceará, mas vamos parar no meio do caminho, em Natal para descansar e seguir viagem amanha!! De Fortaleza mando mais notícias.

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we are, in Maceió, capital city of Alagoas state, the first beach of the trip.


We arrived here last Thursday morning, after sleeping in Aracajú to spend the night and rest a little!

As soon as we arrived here, we went out to visit the Natural pools of Pajuçara Beach, where our hotel is. Later, the students had free time to have lunch and get to know the beautiful city of Maceió.

At night, we danced forró at Lampião, a traditional forró house, in front of the sea. We celebrated Mariah’s (one exchange student from Canadá) birthday there! As the forró house is at the beach, some students sat down on the sand to enjoy the perfect night with lots of stars!!

Yesterday morning, we woke up early and went through Maceió south coast towards Barra de São Miguel where we took a boat to cross to Gunga Beach, one of the most beautiful of the Northeast. We stayed there for more than four hours, and the students swam a lot!! After this visit, we went to get to know the Pontal Fair, famous for its beautiful handicraft. Than we came back to the hotel to have dinner and to rest a little: the trip is just at the beginning!!!

At this exact moment, some students are sleeping and others enjoying the hotel swimming pool, because this morning is free to relax.

After lunch, we’re going to Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará but we will stop fist in Natal to rest a little and continue the long journey tomorow early!! From Fortaleza I’ll send more news!

CHAPADA DIAMANTINA!!!

Bom dia a todos!!

Saímos de Brasília no último domingo bem cedo, as 07h30 da manhã. Chegamos à noite em Ibotirama, já na Bahia, cidade cortada pelo Rio São Francisco e bem próxima da Chapada Diamantina.

Pernoitamos nesta cidade e na segunda-feira, 06h00 da manhã, já estávamos de saída para o nosso primeiro grande dia de passeios na Chapada: as grutas da Pratinha e Lapa Doce.

Os estudantes divertiram-se bastante na tirolesa, fazendo flutuação e nadando na Pratinha e ficaram encantados com as exuberantes formações da Lapa Doce. No fim do dia, chegamos ao nosso hotel na cidade de Lençóis e todos ficaram maravilhados com o hotel, o único 5 estrelas da região!! À noite, depois do jantar, uma surpresa os aguardou. Eles ficaram muito animados quando chegou um grupo de capoeira com mais de 40 integrantes! Nosso estudante Owen deu um show de capoeira!! Tiveram depois uma pequena aula de samba: foi um sucesso!!!

Ontem tivemos um dia bastante ativo: caminhadas e banhos de cachoeira pela manha e pela tarde, além da visita ao incrível Morro do Pai Inácio, de onde se pode ter uma das vistas mais lindas do Brasil. Todos perderam o fôlego com esse passeio!!!

Hoje, todos estão fazendo o ultimo passeio pela Chapada Diamantina: 60m de deliciosa descida pelo Escorregador Natural. Com certeza estão se divertindo bastante!

Conforme programado, logo após o almoço, partiremos para Maceió, a primeira praia da viagem. Porém antes faremos um pernoite em Aracajú, para não pegar estrada a noite, para a maior segurança dos estudantes!!

Good morning!!

We left Brasília last Sunday, early in the morning, at 07:30 AM.

We arrived at the end of the afternoon in Ibotirama, the town where we stopped to spend the night, close to the borders of Chapada Diamantina National Park.

On Monday morning, we went to our first day of tours at Chapada Diamantina: Pratinha and Lapa Doce caves.
The students had lot of fun at Pratinha farm, and got impressed with the beauty and exuberance of the cave’s formations at Lapa Doce.

In the afternoon, we arrived at our hotel in Lençóis. This hotel is being much appreciated, because it’s the only five stars in the region and one of the best hotels of the trip. At night, after dinner, a surprise was waiting for them. The kids did not imagine, but they saw a very special capoeira presentation!! More than 40 participants! Our student Owen was a really great player!! After the “show”, the capoeira group members danced samba with all students! The Capoeira is a typical mixture of dance and fight left from the African slaves to the Brazilian culture and it’s really strong at Bahia state!.

Yesterday we had a very active day: trekkings and waterfalls bath in the morning and afternoon, and the fantastic visit to Pai Inácio Hill, the most beautiful panoramic view of the national park and one of the most incredible of Brazil. The students were amazed.

AT this exact moment everybody is making the last activity here in Chapada Diamantina. They went to the Natural slide; a 60 meters slide in the water!! I’m sure that everybody is enjoying a lot!!

As programmed, right after lunch, we will leave Lençóis towards Maceió, capital city of Alagoas state and the first beach of the trip. The students are looking forward to arrive at this place. Although, we are going to spend the night at Aracajú, to rest a little of the long trip and avoid traveling at night, for the security of the students.

The summer trip is long and we have the entire Northeast in front of us to be visited and enjoyed.

Começou Oficialmente a viagem!!! / The trip Oficially started!!

Oláaaaa a todos!!! Bem vindos a mais uma viagem!!

Estamos escrevendo diretamente da capital federal brasileira: Brasília.

Chegamos aqui na quinta feira, dia 19 de Novembro, à noite, e ficaremos até amanhã, Domingo, quando prosseguiremos para a Chapada Diamantina.

No nosso primeiro dia, conforme previsto na programação, tivemos a orientação geral com todos os participantes da viagem, quando passamos regras e dicas de como aproveitar melhor a viagem. Foi bastante proveitosa. Também tivemos os exames médicos dos intercambistas com a Dra Isabela, que está prometendo cuidar bem de todos!

Logo após a orientação, fomos jantar e em seguida tivemos uma fantástica aula de forró, para que os nossos estudantes pudessem se preparar melhor para a as oportunidades que terão, em todo o Nordeste, de praticar este ritmo. A aula durou quase 2 horas, e com certeza todos já estão bastante afinados, incluindo nossa chaperone Maria Helena do distrito 4630!!

Hoje tivemos um dia bem cheio, com passeios e visitas ao Congresso Nacional, LBV, dentre outros pontos turísticos da capital do Brasil. Logo em seguida fomos para um shopping jantar e fazer algumas compras!

Agora, acabamos de ter nossa primeira reunião da viagem com o grupo, onde passamos a programação do dia seguinte, fizemos achados e perdidos e elegemos o chupetão: a historia mais engraçada que aconteceu nos últimos dias com algum dos estudantes! Essa reunião vai ser bem comum na viagem; vamos fazê-la praticamente todos os dias!

Amanhã bem cedo seguimos para a Chapada Diamantina, com uma parada à noite em Ibotirama/BA para descansar antes de seguir a longa viagem. Mais notícias em breve!

Hellooooo all of you!! Welcome to another trip!!

I’m writing directly from Brazil’s capital: Brasília.

We arrived here on Thursday, November’20 at night, and we will stay here until tomorrow morning, Sunday, when we will travel to Chapada Diamantina.
We had the general orientation and medical exams with our Doctor Isabela in the first day and we think that all students got the important points of the orientation, so that we can have a better trip: and Isabela promised to take good care of all of us!!
After the orientation, we went dinner and just after we had a Forró class (Brazilian rhythm) to prepare the students for the opportunities they will have during this trip to practice this dance. I think now everybody knows how to dance this rhythm, including our Chaperone Maria Helena of district 4630!!
Today we had a day full of activities. We visited Brazilian National Congress, LBV, and many other tourist sites in Brasilia. Just after, we went to a mall to have dinner and make some shopping.
We just had our first meeting of the trip, when we say the program of the next day, make lost and founds and an election of the funniest story of the day of the group, and the person who wing gets a baby pacifier. This kind of meeting will be really common during the trip: we’ll make it almost every day!!
Tomorrow really early we will leave to Chapada Diamantina but we’ll stop before in Ibotirama for the night to rest a little of this long trip!! I’ll send more news as soon as possible!!

Northeast trip has just started!! A viagem ao Nordeste acaba de começar!!

Yesterday we picked up all the students arriving in Belo Horizonte at our bus depot and airport. Today, our bus just left, going from Belo Horizonte to Brasilia. Due to security reasons all of our journeys from one city to another happen during the day time. In Brasilia we will board our last students. Tomorrow is our General Orientation, with all participants, when we will discuss important items such as behavior, rules, security and tips so they can make the most out of the trip. In Brasilia we also will meet our trip doctor who is going to make the initial medical exams in the students.

Ontem estivemos de prontidão na rodoviária/aeroporto de Belo Horizonte recebendo os intercambistas. Hoje, o ônibus acabou de sair, indo de BH com destino à Brasília.  Este, como todos os outros deslocamentos, acontece durante o dia para maior segurança de todos.  Em Brasília embarcaremos nossos últimos participantes e amanhã, teremos a Orientação Geral com todos reunidos.  Na orientação serão explicados itens importantes como: comportamento, regras, segurança e dicas de como aproveitar melhor a viagem. Lá, nossa médica fará um exame inicial em cada um dos intercambistas.

Este é o blog da viagem do Nordeste Novembro/dezembro.

São 46 pessoas com a participação de distritos da Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro e Espírito Santos além de intercambistas que chegaram ao Brasil em Janeiro e neste mês não podem participar da nossa outra viagem ao Nordeste. Aceitamos também, de acordo com a nossa disponibilidade, estudantes de qualquer outro distrito que, por um conflito de data ou por questões financeiras, não possam ir em Janeiro, viagem mais cara por ser alta temporada.
Toda nossa viagem pode ser acompanhada pelo roteiro.
Fotos serão constantemente atualizadas em nossa galeria de fotos.

This is the November/December Northeast Trip.
We are 46 people with districts from Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, students who arrived in Brazil in January and cannot participate in our tour at this date. We accept also, if we have availability, students from any another district who have schedule or financial problems and cannot go on the January trip which is more expensive due to be in high season.
